First Lady Praised as “Pillar of Strength” During Second Presidential Term
Melania Trump has been hailed as a “pillar of strength” for her husband, Donald Trump, as he embarks on his second term as President of the United States.
Presidential Couple Makes Unprecedented Second UK State Visit
Melania Trump has been praised for her “balancing” influence on husband Donald Trump. On Monday, the presidential couple crossed the Atlantic before landing at Essex’s Stansted Airport for Trump’s unprecedented second state visit to the UK.
Rare Public Display of Affection at Airport Arrival
However, in a rare display of affection, Melania gripped her husband’s hand tightly as they disembarked from Air Force One. When they reached the bottom of the steps, they were welcomed to the country with a full guard of honour with RAF personnel from The King’s Colour Squadron lining up on either side of the corridor.

High-Profile Welcome from UK Officials
They were then met by chief UK ministers and dignitaries, including foreign secretary Yvette Cooper. The couple kept their hands closely entwined throughout the display – a rare display of affection – however some have suggested Melania’s tight grip could have been an effort to camouflage bruising on the president’s hand.
Close Friend Describes First Lady as “Very Good Number Two”
It comes as Melania’s close pal and personal photographer, Regine Mahaux, has described the First Lady as a “very good number two” to her husband. The pair recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.
Marriage Success Attributed to Melania’s “Balancing” Influence
Regine credits the success of their marriage to Melania’s ability to provide “balance” to her billionaire spouse, enabling him to “take the light” whilst she backs him from behind the scenes.

Friend Emphasizes First Lady’s Strength and “Soft Power”
Despite this, Regine maintains that Melania is a “strong” woman. In an interview with Hello!, she voiced her admiration: “There is something in her – the strong woman – but at the same time, there is a soft power; she’s really good at balancing her husband.
“Sometimes I wonder how she could have the courage to keep on going; they’ve gone through so much. She’s committed. She loves him and he loves her.”
Couple Finds Joy Despite Hectic Schedules
According to Regine, the pair’s hectic timetables frequently keep them separated, but they consistently strive to “find joy” in the precious moments they spend together.
She observes that Donald is eager to satisfy Melania and demonstrates profound affection for her, disclosing that they are perpetually checking on one another when work commitments force them apart.
Memoir Reveals Details of Their First Meeting
In her explosive memoir, Melania reveals that Donald was accompanied by another woman when he initially approached her.
Declining to provide him with her contact details due to his companion, she chose instead to obtain his number.
Shared Passions for Music and Entertainment
The First Lady also offered glimpses into the pair’s shared passion for music and films.
She reveals in her autobiography: “We share a love for Elvis Presley and Elton John. Whenever he had music playing at home, he’d crank up the volume and pull me into a spontaneous dance.
“And when it came to movies, we enjoyed everything from Westerns to old classics to dramas. His taste was eclectic, just like mine.
Regular Theater Visits and Sporting Events
“We visited the theater regularly, seeing almost every new release. Our evenings were filled with the excitement of baseball games, football games, and boxing events.”
Wedding Details from 2005 Ceremony
She recalls their nuptials which occurred on January 22, 2005, featuring a ceremony at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea and the celebration at Donald’s lavish Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida.
