Acclaimed Indian actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is set to star alongside Mission Impossible veteran Ilia Volok in the upcoming heist thriller Faraar, according to recent reports. The film, helmed by director Kushagra Sharma, promises to offer a fresh perspective on antagonist characterization in contemporary cinema.
Speaking about the casting choices, Sharma explained his vision: “Bringing together Ilia Volok and Nawazuddin Siddiqui was a deliberate creative choice rooted in our ambition to restore the presence of complex, multifaceted villains while challenging traditional cinematic conventions. In today’s increasingly interconnected film landscape, it’s crucial to unite performers who bring genuine depth, raw intensity, and complete authenticity to their craft.”

The director elaborated on the pairing’s significance: “Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s extraordinary screen presence requires an opponent of equal magnitude, and Ilia Volok delivers precisely that—a unique blend of commanding presence and volatile unpredictability. Additionally, with the background score being created by the composers behind Money Heist, viewers can anticipate an sonic landscape that amplifies the tension exponentially, transforming the film into an immersive theatrical experience designed to be viscerally felt, not just passively observed.”
The cast also includes Nimisha Sajayan, recognized for her performance in Dabba Cartel. The film’s musical foundation will be laid by Spanish composer Ivan Lacamara, whose acclaimed work on Money Heist established his reputation for crafting suspenseful soundscapes. This creative partnership is anticipated to heighten the film’s dramatic tension and deliver a captivating auditory journey.
Faraar remains in active production, with additional information about the project expected to emerge in upcoming months.
