Malaika Arora: “Fashion Doesn’t Define Me—But It Gives Me an Edge”
By Aanya Rajput
Draped in silhouettes that seem sculpted just for her and carrying an energy that commands every room she enters, Malaika Arora is the embodiment of modern glamour. Labels like “fashionista,” “glamorous,” and “diva” have followed her since her earliest red-carpet appearances, but ask Malaika and she’ll tell you—it’s deeper than designer tags.
“I’ve always been close to fashion, even as a kid,” I’d experiment, make my own clothes, style my own looks whenever I could. The love for fashion was always there—it’s a part of my aesthetic. Of course, I’ve had some terrible fashion moments too,” she laughs, “but every misstep taught me something new.”

Her approach to style is both effortless and instinctive, rooted in one simple philosophy: authenticity.
“I’m comfortable in my own skin—and that’s everything. You could wear the most exquisite couture in the world, but if you’re not comfortable, it loses its power. Confidence is what elevates fashion, not just clothes.”
Malaika credits years of experimentation—mixing high street with high fashion, embracing risk, and finding what truly resonates with her body and personality—for shaping the edge people admire today.
“Fashion lets me explore my fierce side, but it doesn’t define me,” she says. “It’s an extension of who I am. I love that it allows me to express my individuality, but I’ll never let it be the only thing people see.”
For Malaika, fashion is not about chasing trends but about curating a visual language unique to her—a synergy of confidence, creativity, and unapologetic self-expression.
