A viral video showing veteran actress and Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan pushing a man who was attempting to take a selfie with her has ignited a fresh feud with fellow actor and politician Kangana Ranaut. The incident, which took place at the Constitution Club in Delhi, was quickly condemned by Ranaut on her Instagram Stories.

In the clip, Bachchan, who is a Member of Parliament representing the Samajwadi Party, is seen walking with another parliamentarian, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi. As a man approaches her, leaning in for a selfie, a visibly agitated Bachchan shoves him away and says, “What are you doing? What is this?” The man, startled, immediately backs off. This is not an isolated incident; Bachchan has a history of similar public outbursts toward fans and the paparazzi.
Kangana Ranaut, a BJP MP from Mandi, seized the opportunity to criticize Bachchan. Sharing the video, she wrote, “Most spoilt and privileged woman. People put up with her tantrums/non sense just because she is @amitabhbachchan ji’s wife.” She added a particularly pointed and political jab, comparing Bachchan’s Samajwadi Party cap to a “rooster comb” and calling Bachchan herself a “rooster cock.”

This latest clash is a continuation of a long-standing rivalry between the two actresses. In 2020, Ranaut had previously criticized Bachchan after the latter defended the film industry, which Ranaut had controversially labeled a “gutter.” Ranaut’s response at the time challenged Bachchan to consider if she would feel the same way if her own children were victims of bullying or abuse within the industry. Interestingly, Ranaut’s views have not always been so critical; last year, she praised Bachchan for her “dignified” presence in the Rajya Sabha.
The incident highlights the ongoing public tension between the two powerful women, both of whom have transitioned into the political arena.
