Dia Mirza and Rahul Bhat Join Forces for Kanwal Sethi’s Romantic Drama

Acclaimed actors Dia Mirza and Rahul Bhat are teaming up for the first time in a yet-to-be-titled romantic film directed by Indo-German filmmaker Kanwal Sethi. Backed by Kovid Gupta Films, the project promises to offer a mature, contemplative take on love and relationships, weaving together lyrical narrative with grounded, modern storytelling.

Rahul Bhat has built a formidable reputation through carefully curated roles and compelling performances. Fresh off his powerful work in Black Warrant and his critically lauded appearance in the festival circuit favorite Kennedy, Bhat has several exciting projects lined up—including Madhur Bhandarkar’s The Wives and his Hollywood debut Lost & Found In Kumbh—cementing his place among India’s most dynamic acting talents.

Joining him is Dia Mirza, whose elegant screen presence and emotional nuance have made her a beloved figure in Indian cinema. With a consistent track record of selecting socially resonant and meaningful films, Dia is expected to bring her trademark sensitivity and grace to this exploration of layered, intimate connections.

At the helm is Kanwal Sethi, a director recognized for his ability to craft deeply personal stories that transcend borders. Known for his work across Indian and international cinema, Sethi is poised to deliver a film that balances the poetic beauty of romance with the intricate realities of contemporary relationships.

Producer Kovid Gupta brings a wealth of experience to the project. A filmmaker, writer, and former Head of Business Development at Vinod Chopra Films, Gupta established Kovid Gupta Films in 2018 with the goal of producing thoughtful, impactful cinema. He is also the bestselling author of Kingdom of the Soap Queen: The Story of Balaji Telefilms and Redrawing India: The Teach For India Story.

Though the film’s title, additional cast members, and release date have yet to be announced, early buzz suggests a visually stunning and emotionally resonant narrative that bridges cultural and personal divides.

With Sethi’s distinctive cross-cultural filmmaking style, the exciting debut pairing of Bhat and Mirza, and Gupta’s thoughtful production approach, this untitled romance is already generating significant anticipation as one of the year’s most promising cinematic ventures.
