Major filming sequences wrapped in Ladakh; December marks end of principal photography
Sources close to the production have revealed that Battle Of Galwan, starring Salman Khan, is targeting a mid-2026 theatrical release following the completion of shooting scheduled for December.
“Production commenced in September with extensive filming in Ladakh, where the majority of scenes have been captured,” an insider disclosed. “The crew has successfully completed several demanding action sequences and pivotal moments. Once filming concludes in December, director Apoorva Lakhia will dedicate his efforts entirely to post-production work.”

Release Window Under Consideration
While Bollywood Hungama previously reported in July that the film was eyeing either a January or June 2026 launch, sources now indicate that the early-year window is no longer viable. “January 2026 is off the table given the production timeline. The team is seriously evaluating a June release, though they’re also exploring potential dates in July and August of next year,” the source added.
Will Fans Get a Birthday Surprise?
The recent unveiling of Shah Rukh Khan’s King teaser on his 60th birthday has sparked speculation among Salman Khan’s fanbase about a possible Battle Of Galwan announcement on December 27, when their superstar celebrates his milestone 60th birthday. However, insiders remain tight-lipped about any planned reveals for that date.
About the Film
Battle Of Galwan features Chitrangda Singh alongside Salman Khan, who portrays Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu. The war drama draws from a chapter in ‘India’s Most Fearless 3’ (2022) by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. Director Apoorva Lakhia recently debunked speculation about an Amitabh Bachchan cameo, confirming those reports were inaccurate.
