Speaking exclusively on November 1st, as Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 marked its first anniversary, director Anees Bazmee shared exciting updates about the franchise’s future. “It’s my birthday today, and exactly a year ago, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 released on this same day—purely by chance,” the filmmaker revealed. “A year on, audiences continue to connect with the film. It’s become everyone’s go-to feel-good entertainer.”

The director had high praise for his leading man, Kartik Aaryan. “He’s delivered an exceptional performance. Bhool Bhulaiyaa truly showcased his brilliant comic abilities to the world. I’m developing several comedy projects with Kartik,” Bazmee shared.

When asked if Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4 is among these projects, Bazmee confirmed: “Absolutely. We’re working on it. The franchise has earned extraordinary love from audiences over the years. So yes, it’s definitely happening. Right now, I can confirm that Kartik will return.”

Reflecting on the third installment, Bazmee highlighted the experience of directing Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan together. “Working with these two icons was incredible—they never made me feel like I was directing legends. They brought punctuality, discipline, healthy competition, and wonderful collaboration to set. It was thoroughly enjoyable.”

As for whether the iconic duo will return for the fourth film, Bazmee kept his options open. “They might! Alternatively, we could introduce a talented actress who’s new to the franchise,” he teased.
