After delivering blockbuster hits like Welcome and Singh Is Kinng, the dynamic duo of Akshay Kumar and director Anees Bazmee are set to collaborate once again. Industry insiders have confirmed that their upcoming project will be a Hindi reimagining of the Venkatesh-starrer Sankranthiki Vasthunam, with producer Dil Raju backing the venture as a full-fledged comedy entertainer.

According to sources close to Bollywood Hungama, “Both Anees and Akshay were captivated by the central premise of Sankranthiki Vasthunam – a man caught in a hilarious predicament between his wife and ex-girlfriend. While the original film had distinct Telugu cultural elements, Anees Bazmee is reworking it to resonate with Hindi-speaking audiences, while preserving the heart of the story.”

The source added, “Anees has a proven track record of crafting fresh screenplays inspired by existing films, and this project will be no exception.
