Bollywood Star Sangeeta Bijlani Seeks Gun License Following Farmhouse Break-In

October 13, 2025 – Former actress Sangeeta Bijlani has taken the unprecedented step of applying for a firearm license after experiencing what she describes as a disturbing burglary at her rural property, marking a significant shift in her sense of personal security.

The incident, which occurred approximately three and a half months ago at her farmhouse near Pavana, has left the Bollywood veteran feeling vulnerable for the first time in her two-decade residency at the location.

Details of the Incident

In July, intruders forcibly entered Bijlani’s property while she was away, causing extensive damage and violating her personal space in deeply troubling ways. The perpetrators destroyed household appliances including refrigerators and televisions, damaged furniture throughout the home, and left obscene graffiti scrawled across interior walls. The thieves escaped with approximately Rs. 50,000 in cash and a television set worth Rs. 7,000.

“Pavana has been a home to me for the last 20 years,” Bijlani explained. “The theft and housebreaking were scary. Fortunately, I wasn’t present when it happened, but discovering the obscene graffiti written on the walls inside was deeply disturbing.”

Concerns Over Investigation Progress

Recently meeting with Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandip Singh Gill, Bijlani expressed frustration over the lack of progress in the case. Despite the passage of several months, investigators have yet to identify suspects or make arrests.

The police superintendent reportedly assured her that authorities remain committed to solving the case and apprehending those responsible.

A Community Safety Issue

Bijlani emphasized that her concerns extend beyond personal safety to encompass the broader Pavana community, which includes numerous families and elderly residents who now share her anxiety.

“Safety is important,” she stressed. “Lately, because of these incidents, residents of the Pavana area are feeling unsafe. There are several people living here, including senior citizens and families who deserve to feel secure in their homes.”

First-Time Request for Firearm

The decision to seek a gun license represents a significant departure for the actress, who has never previously felt the need for armed protection during her years at the property.

“As a woman, if I go alone to the house, I believe some form of protection needs to be available,” Bijlani stated. “I never felt the need for a firearm license before, but this is the first time I’m feeling insecure. This is the first time I’m feeling unsafe and somewhat afraid.”

Bijlani has formally submitted her application to the Pune rural police and now awaits their decision on her request.

Looking Ahead

The actress expressed hope that law enforcement will intensify their efforts and accelerate the investigation, restoring peace of mind to area residents. As the case continues, both local authorities and Bijlani remain focused on achieving a resolution while ensuring enhanced security measures for the community.

The outcome of her firearm license application is expected in the coming weeks.
