16 Killed in Quetta Suicide Attack, Six Militants Neutralized.

Over 30 injured, including women and children; security forces thwart attempted breach of FC headquarters

A coordinated militant attack in Quetta on Tuesday claimed at least 16 lives, including two Frontier Corps personnel and eight civilians, while leaving more than 30 others wounded, Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Kakar confirmed.

The assault began when militants arrived in two vehicles near Pishin Stop. One vehicle was detonated in a suicide bombing at a security barrier, while occupants of the second attempted to storm the FC headquarters but were intercepted by personnel at the checkpoint.

An intense firefight ensued, resulting in the deaths of two FC personnel and six attackers. Security forces successfully prevented the militants from breaching the facility.

Among the injured—many of them women and children—more than 30 were rushed to Civil Hospital Quetta, where six remain in critical condition. The blast was powerful enough to shatter windows and doors of surrounding buildings.

Authorities recovered dry rations and supplies from the slain militants, indicating they had prepared for an extended siege inside the FC compound. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a comprehensive investigation.

National Leadership Condemns Attack

President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned the assault, attributing it to what he termed “Indian proxy Fitna al Khawarij.” He commended security forces for their swift response and expressed confidence that such attempts to destabilize Pakistan would fail.

“As the global and regional scenario shifts against anti-Pakistan states and their proxies, they are growing desperate. Pakistan, its people, and security forces shall prevail, Insha Allah,” the president stated.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the forces for neutralizing the attackers, referring to them as “Fitna-al-Hindustan.” He vowed exemplary punishment for those threatening Pakistan’s integrity and reaffirmed the government’s determination to eradicate terrorism.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti lauded the security response and pledged continued efforts to ensure peace in the province. He expressed solidarity with victims’ families and affirmed that such cowardly acts would not weaken national resolve.RetryClaude can make mistakes. Please double-check responses.
