Rajinikanth’s Coolie Maintains Momentum: Surpasses ₹250 Crore Milestone on Day 11.

Box Office Update: Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest venture, Coolie, continues its theatrical run with steady performance as it enters its second week. The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial has successfully crossed the significant ₹250 crore benchmark.

Weekend Performance Shows Resilience

The action-packed gangster drama, which hit cinemas on August 14, generated massive anticipation from day one. While the film capitalized on Rajinikanth’s star power with an explosive opening, it experienced the typical weekday slowdown before regaining strength over the weekend.

According to the latest Sacnilk data, Coolie earned ₹9.8 crore on Sunday (day 11), representing a slight decrease from Saturday’s ₹10.5 crore collection. Despite this minor dip, the weekend boost of 79.49% demonstrates the film’s continued audience appeal.

Milestone Achievement

The film’s opening day remains its peak single-day performer with ₹65 crore in collections. By the conclusion of its first week, Coolie had accumulated ₹229.65 crore. With the addition of second weekend earnings, the total now stands at an impressive ₹255.8 crore.

The film recorded a 40.76% occupancy rate in Tamil markets on Sunday, indicating sustained viewer interest.

The Story Behind the Numbers

Coolie presents Rajinikanth as Deva, a former union leader drawn into a dangerous quest for truth following his friend Rajasekhar’s (Sathyaraj) mysterious death. His journey puts him on a collision course with the ruthless gangster Simon (Nagarjuna) and his lieutenant Dayal (Soubin Shahir).

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has crafted what promises to be a high-octane entertainer that leverages Rajinikanth’s mass appeal while delivering the thrills audiences expect from the acclaimed filmmaker’s signature style.

Recent developments: A controversy emerged regarding a purported Rajinikanth fan meeting in Malaysia, with organizers threatening legal action over what they claim was a fabricated event.
