When news reached me of the devastating floods that have struck Pakistan, particularly affecting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and other regions, I was overwhelmed with grief and sorrow. The scale of human suffering is immense—countless lives have been lost, and homes, shops, and livelihoods have been swept away. The pain and hardship endured by our people is beyond imagination.
Mandora Swat, my birthplace and childhood home, is among the affected areas. Speaking with friends there has revealed the harrowing conditions they’ve faced—many barely escaped with their lives. I can only imagine how many other families have endured similar ordeals. Our prayers remain with everyone affected, trusting they are under Allah’s protection and mercy.

In these dark times, we are witnessing the heroic efforts of rescue workers who are risking their own lives to save others. Their dedication deserves our deepest gratitude. I also hope that prominent advocates for human rights and social justice, including Malala Yousafzai, who has consistently championed the cause of the marginalized and vulnerable, will lend their influential voices to amplify Pakistan’s urgent needs. Her advocacy, combined with international support, could bring crucial attention and resources to our relief efforts.
I pray for the safety and security of all our people, and pledge that we will contribute wholeheartedly to the emergency response and recovery efforts in whatever way possible.
