Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his two-day official visit to the United Kingdom on Thursday, marking a significant step forward in India-UK relations. The visit culminated in the signing of a historic Free Trade Agreement (FTA), hailed as a milestone for bilateral economic cooperation. Hosted by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Chequers, the leaders held in-depth discussions on global, regional, and strategic issues of mutual interest. In a social media post, Modi expressed gratitude to the UK government and people, calling the visit a boost to “shared growth and prosperity.” Before departing for the Maldives, the second leg of his two-nation tour, Modi met King Charles III at Sandringham Estate. As a symbolic gesture, he presented the monarch with a sapling of the Sonoma dove tree under his “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” environmental initiative. The tree will be planted this autumn, honoring the campaign’s message of planting a tree in tribute to one’s mother.
